Welcome to the TrapMaker Addition for PageMaker 5.0 for the Macintosh! This document describes how to get up and running with your new PageMaker 5.0 Addition, and how to find out more about TrapMaker.

To install TrapMaker:
1. If you are running PageMaker, quit the application.
2. Select the files “TrapMaker.add” and “TMPrint.add” from the “TrapMaker Addition” disk.
3. Copy the files into your Additions folder within the Aldus folder. The Aldus folder is located in your System Folder.
When you launch PageMaker 5.0, you’ll find the “Aldus TrapMaker…” command available from the Aldus Additions submenu on the Utilities menu.
The first time you choose the “Aldus TrapMaker…” command, you’ll be prompted to enter your TrapMaker product serial number. The serial number appears on the TrapMaker disk, and on the registration card included in your TrapMaker package.
NOTE: The “TMPrint.add” file is a revision of the “Printer styles” Addition included in the PageMaker 5.0 package. This revised version is designed to work specifically with TrapMaker. To output trapped publications you must have “TMPrint.add” or “Printer styles.add” stored in your Additions folder. Also note that “TMPrint.add” does not make a menu command available on the Aldus Additions submenu, but opens when you click “Print…” from within the “Aldus TrapMaker” dialog box.

To find out how TrapMaker works:
1. Select the “TrapMaker Online Guide” file on the “TrapMaker Addition” disk.
2. Copy the file to your hard drive. (The PageMaker application folder might be a good place to store the file.)
3. From the Finder, double-click the “TrapMaker Online Guide” file to launch the standalone document, and follow the instructions on screen.
If you prefer to read instructions on paper rather than on screen, you can press Command + P while the online guide is active to print any or all sections of the document. You can then store the printed pages with your PageMaker documentation.
